Draw every day
This doesn’t mean that you must obsessively keep on drawing and drawing all day every day. But if you feel like you can put on some sketches of daily subjects whenever you feel like. For instance you spot a bird on a branch: why don’t you try to draw it as you see it? Or you can also draw a tea kettle, or a mug depending on your taste and free time. Remember it’s all about exercising and not about picture –perfection.
Drawing is great as a start even if you want to paint on the long haul. Don’t forget that drawing is the start and that all the big painters have never ceased to draw and sketch things even though they were actively painting too. It’s also because drawing only needs a paper, a pencil and an object. Go for a walk and sketch as a pastime activity. You will see it will not only help you improve, it will also relax you and make you forget about stress and problems.
